Lexus is no stranger to hybrids, with green offshoots of the GS and LS sedans and RX SUV currently in showrooms. However, joining them this summer is Lexus's first dedicated hybrid, the HS 250h, which made its debut at the Detroit Auto Show. This is the new Cayenne S Transsyberia, a road-going version of Porsche’s racing Cayenne that has won the Transsyberia Rally three years running. Porsche has dominated the rally - which runs 4,460 miles across Asia between Moscow and Ulan Bator – in recent years with its Cayenne finishing in first to third in 2007, and first to sixth in 2008. Yes. To celebrate its success Porsche will unveil a street-legal version of the car at the Paris motor show next month.
Audi has just revealed a new version of its popular A3 hatchback, this one aimed straight at fuel economy figures that'll put hybrids to shame. The new A3 1.6 TDI ultra uses just 3.2 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers as the Europeans like to put it, or 73.5 miles per U.S. gallon.
